Play It Again
A downloadable game for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux
Made as a game-a-week experiment.
"I had the idea for 'Play It Again' at a music concert.
It's a game about humanity. About the human experience perceived from a non-human point of view.
At the concert I remembered the Aztec belief of eternal recurrence: the music style I was listening to felt new, but somehow also it also felt very familiar, similar to older styles.
For some reason I started thinking about cycles - we go from progress to reactionarism, to progress again, and so on - faith dominates and gets replaced by atheism, which gets replaced by faith again, and so on - a generation is right wing, the next one becomes left wing, then the next right wing again, and so on.
Everything is a cycle.
Humanity is like a clock. It constantly changes, but ultimately it doesn't change at all.
This is a game about that.
